TrailBlaze SEO Extension Privacy Policy

TrailBlaze is a free, bring-your-own-key (BYOK) Chrome extension for on-page SEO analysis. We designed it so that your data stays between your browser and the services you choose to connect. Ridgeline Digital Marketing does not operate a server for this extension, and we do not receive, store, or log your browsing data or your API keys.

What the extension accesses

• The current page. When you open TrailBlaze or run an analysis, it reads the active tab's content (title, meta tags, headings, links, images, structured data, and visible text) to produce the on-page audit. This reading happens locally in your browser.
• Your API keys. If you choose to connect a provider, your API keys for Anthropic, OpenAI, Ahrefs, or SEMrush are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage.local. They are never sent to Ridgeline.
• Cached results. AI analysis and comparison results are cached locally for up to 24 hours so the extension does not repeat paid calls. You can clear this at any time by removing the extension's storage or uninstalling it.

What data leaves your browser, and to whom

TrailBlaze only sends data to third parties when you take an action that requires it, and only to the provider you selected, using your own API key:

• Content Analysis and Compare (AI): the page's main text and metadata are sent to your chosen AI provider (Anthropic at api.anthropic.com or OpenAI at api.openai.com).
• SERP (Competitors): the keyword you enter is sent to your chosen SERP provider (Ahrefs at api.ahrefs.com or SEMrush at api.semrush.com).
• Compare (competitor fetch): the extension fetches the competitor URL you provide directly from that website to read its content.
• Open in Claude: if you click "Open in Claude," the extension opens claude.ai in a new tab with your page data included in the link so Claude can analyze it. This is initiated only by your click.

The extension's interface fonts are bundled in the package, so the extension itself makes no other external requests. These requests go directly from your browser to those services. Ridgeline is not a party to them and does not receive copies. Each provider handles your data under its own privacy policy:

• Anthropic privacy policy
• OpenAI privacy policy
• Ahrefs privacy policy
• SEMrush privacy policy

What we do not do

• We do not sell or share your data.
• We do not use your data for advertising or to build user profiles.
• We do not transmit your API keys or browsing activity to Ridgeline or any party other than the providers above.
• We do not include analytics or tracking in the extension.

Permissions

The extension requests the minimum permissions needed to function: access to the active tab and host access so it can read any page you choose to audit and fetch competitor pages; scripting to read page content; tabs to identify the active page and open provider tabs on your request; and storage to keep your keys and cached results locally.
